WEST TEXAS CUTTING HORSE ASSOCIATION GENERAL RULES
1.
The cutting is to be held August 13 thru August 21, 2011.
2. The cutting will consist of a Futurity: $42,500 added
purse to the Open and $10,000 to the Non-Pro(3 yr old) Ef$700+Cc$700. Note: Gelding Stakes and Limited Open ($200,000)
within Open and Gelding Stakes and Limited Non-Pro ($200,000) within Non-Pro (3 year old). Ef$300+Oc$100.
Derby:
$42,500 added purse prorated between Open and Non-Pro ((4 year old). Ef$700+Cc$700. Note: Gelding Stakes and Limited
Open ($200,000) within Open and Gelding Stakes and Limited Non-Pro ($200,000) within Non-Pro (4 year old) Ef$300+Oc$100.
10,000 Novice Horse class within Open classEf $300+OC$100. 15,000 Novice NP within Non-Pro class. Ef

Classic/Challenge:

UNAPPROVED:
50,000 Amateur 7UP. Horses 7 yrs old and over. $3500
added. Ef$400+CC$400. One go-round and finals. All money to be paid
in finals.
Classes within
classes wil be paid on the furtherest advancing horses.
3. The open and non-pro Futurity, Derby and Classis/Challenge
will consist of 2 go-rounds and a final. 60% of the total entries will advance to the 2nd go. The cumulative score
of 2 go-rounds will determine the finalists, however go-round scores will be dropped and only those scores in the final will
determine finalist placing. 25% of the total entries per class will advance to the respective final, not to exceed a
total of twenty four (24). A contestant may ride unlimited horses in each of these classes.
4. The 50K Amateur
Derby, and the 50K Amateur Classic/Challenge will consist of one go-round and a final. 25% of the total entries per
class will advance to the respective final, not to exceed a total of twenty four (24). A contestant may ride unlimited
horses in each of these classes.
5. ANY CLASS WITH LESS THAN 15 ENTRIES WILL HAVE A NON-WORKING FINAL, WITH ALL
MONIES PAID BASED ON THE CUMULATIVE SCORES OF THE GO-ROUNDS OF THE CLASS.
6. All monies will be paid in the finals,
with all finalists receiving their entry fee in premium. The top 50% of finalists will receive additional premiums.

A photocopy of the registration is required on all limited age event horses. Unregistered horses must furnish a veterinarian’s
statement of age and description of horse to the WTCHA. The WTCHA reserves the right to have a veterinarian examine
any horse to determine age and eligibility.
8. All contestants must be in good standing with the NCHA. All NCHA
rules apply when not in direct conflict with rules of the WTCHA.
9. There will be no refunds for any reason.
10. A five judge adjusted monitor system will be used in all classes.
11. All rules are subject to change by action
of the West Texas Cutting Horse Association board of directors. All fees shall be made payable to the West Texas Futurity.

All earnings of winners will be withheld until tax numbers are furnished and all fees and charges concerning the cutting are
verified as paid. All winnings will be paid to the person who paid the entry fee unless otherwise notified by that individual.
All premium checks will be mailed within 7 business days, after all required paperwork is in the WTCHA office.
13. The
WTCHA reserves the right to accept or reject any entry and to disqualify any contestant for actions of misconduct. All
decisions of the WTCHA are final. The WTCHA reserves the right to cancel the event or a class without notice any time
prior to start of the event or class without liability to them, but in such case shall return all fees paid by contestants.
14.
In case of ties in any class a work off will be held to determine the champion in the class.
15. When signing
the entry blank you have released the West Texas Futurity and the West Texas Cutting Horse Association of any liability for
accidents or injury which may occur during the time of the event to entrants, their employees or property.
16. Entries
close August 10, 2011. Any entry received after that date will be assessed a $100 late fee. Entries will
be taken by fax or mail only. No phone entries will be accepted. All faxed entries must be accompanied by credit
card information. Mailed entries must include check or credit card information. Credit card payments will have a 3%
processing fee added. Entries must be received in office with payment to be included in the draw. No exceptions.
Draws will be made August 13, 2011. Draws and show results will be posted at www.westtexasfuturity.com.
17. Substitutions will be allowed if a veterinary certificate is received stating that the entered horse is unable
to work. The owner will be allowed to substitute another horse by paying a $100 fee. There will be no refunds
for any reason.
